Ask Jordan where he’s from and you’ll get a surprising answer: kind of…everywhere. Born in Hawaii, raised in California, and college-bound to Tennessee, he eventually landed in New York City, where he now lives with his girlfriend. He's become something of an evangelist for the city — to him, NYC is the epicenter of culture, a place where no interest is too niche to find its people. On any given weekend, you'll find him scouting a new dinner spot, posting up at a hi-fi cafe, or browsing a boutique menswear shop.
Jordan studied marketing at Southern Adventist University, never imagining design as a viable career — at the time, he didn't think he had the chops to make a living from it. That changed in Chattanooga, where he worked as a barista through college. The city, and the people in it, became the unlikely launchpad for his career: a connection with a local business owner turned into freelance graphic design work, and what started as a side hustle slowly became his path forward.
Landing his first agency job remains a career highlight — a milestone moment for a self-taught designer who spent years fighting imposter syndrome. It was the first tangible proof that design could be a real, sustainable career and not just a hobby that got out of hand.
Jordan credits his work ethic to an unlikely source of inspiration: Michelin-star chefs. He likens their passion for quality ingredients to his endless hunt for the best inputs — references, ideas, details — to eventually fold into his own work.
When he's not designing, Jordan’s perfect weekend involves a beach trip with friends, good food, better music, and a campfire that stretches into deep, meandering conversation.
