What can I expect a brand project to cost?
Plus sign

Our pricing varies depending on the scope and scale of your project and company. For early-stage startups, we have an approachable branding process that typically starts around $30K, while full-scale rebrands for enterprise and venture-backed companies can exceed $100K-$350k. We also offer retainer-based engagements at $3,500/month for ongoing support if you're not ready to jump into a rebrand just yet but need a little polish.

That said, every business is unique, and we’re happy to explore a scope and approach that aligns best with your needs and budget. If you're unsure where you fit, let's chat and figure it out together.

Our process is tailored to fit your business’s needs, but here’s a general timeline for our core branding engagements:

  • Monthly Retainers – Ongoing partnerships where we help evolve your brand over time, starting at a few hours per month.
  • 6-Week Branding Sprint – A fast-moving process ideal for early-stage startups looking to establish a strong foundation quickly.
  • Comprehensive Branding (9-12 weeks) – A more strategic approach for companies that have a clear understanding of their business and customers and are ready to invest in a full brand identity—both visually and verbally.
  • Brand Strategy & Complex Initiatives (12+ weeks) – For businesses navigating mergers, acquisitions, or internal alignment across large executive teams, this process helps solve complex brand challenges and ensures clarity at every level.

You sure can. But be sure to tell us why you’re applying for each one.

Will your process work for me and my team?
Plus sign

Our process is high-touch, highly collaborative, and designed for teams that move fast and want to make meaningful breakthroughs quickly.

We work within a structured weekly cadence with all of our partners:

  • We kickoff each week with a working session – A one-hour meeting at the start of the week (typically Monday afternoons or Tuesday) to align on strategy, feedback, direction, and priorities.
  • Async review and feedback loop – We deliver work every Friday, paired with a recorded walkthrough from our team. This allows you and your stakeholders to review it on your own time.
  • Unified feedback – Most of our partners use Mondays to gather internal thoughts and feedback, ensuring that by our weekly working session, feedback is clear, actionable, and ready to be discussed.

This approach eliminates the inefficiency of live pitches and presentations, giving you the space to think deeply while keeping the process moving. If you value structured collaboration and quick momentum, we’re likely a great fit for your team.

Do I need to submit a cover letter?
Plus sign

Yes! We want to see that you have truly considered the application requirements and taken the time to write something specific. It doesn’t need to be long, but it should tell us why you’d be a great addition to the Focus Lab team.

What can I expect from the interview process?
Plus sign

Once we get through applications, generally within a week after the job posting closes, the interview process begins. It looks like this:

  • A phone call with People Ops to discuss your interest and answer any initial questions you may have
  • A video interview with a director to talk about your experience
  • A video interview with an additional director or founder to talk about Focus Lab culture
What is the difference between a rebrand and a refresh?
Plus sign

First, let’s clear up a common misconception: A rebrand doesn’t always mean changing your company’s name. While that can be part of the process, a rebrand is much bigger—it starts with brand strategy, identifying opportunities in your market and distilling your company’s ethos into a clear direction. From there, the scope may include a new logo, visual and verbal identity, website, and more.

A brand refresh, on the other hand, is a more focused evolution. It often includes a lighter strategy phase and refines your existing brand rather than overhauling it. If you have a solid foundation but need more structure or refinement, a refresh can help bring clarity and consistency.

Not sure which is right for you? We can help guide that decision and ensure your brand investment aligns with your business goals.
