How does a circus performer raised in Ohio end up a writer living in Italy? In Ware's case, the answer is simple: faced with any important life choice, just ask yourself, "which option will make the best story?"
Growing up in the Midwest as the son of two teachers (an English professor and a sociologist), Ware inherited his mom's red pen and love of story, and his dad's hairline and love of data. Then, in spite of his academic roots, he joined a youth circus.
From there, he went on to get two theater degrees, including an MFA in Italy as part of an international program focused on creating original, interdisciplinary work. He also speaks fluent Italian and has a graduate certificate in science communication from the University of Trento. In short, Ware brings a blend of creative exploration, multicultural experience, and analytical rigor that few can match.
Along the way, he spent a few years working in restaurants and turned a culinary education role into a portfolio that got his foot in the door as a writer. Fifteen years on, he's covered everything from B2B marketing for nanoparticle counters to articles about pet safety and UX writing for the employee intranet at a Fortune 500 company. He's also written a children's book.
Outside of work, you can find Ware in Rome, searching for the perfect carbonara with his partner, playing board games and TTRPGs (that inner actor is still alive and well!), training his dog, doing the odd circus thing, and occasionally volunteering with the local emergency services K9 unit.
